CLIFF PAUL JR.

Coach Cliff Paul has over 10 years of official basketball coaching in his career, but a lifetime of experience in the game. At an early age Coach Cliff assisted his Mother’s AAU program and coached the younger teams while he himself was still a player. His brothers helped propel his coaching career to new heights as Brandon won Mr. Basketball for the state of Illinois in 2009 and Darius made it to the IHSA State Championship where he narrowly lost to Jabari Parker in 2011. His younger brother Brandon followed him to the University of Illinois to play where Coach Cliff had a front row view of not only the play, but the behind the scenes practices and 2 different coaching regimes. He began officially coaching in 2006 while at U of I working with the Boys and Girls Club travel basketball program in Champaign, where he coached and mentored kids from kindergarten thru high school with his fraternity volunteering, and eventually as his part time job during school.
He returned and resumed coaching in the Chicagoland area in 2014. He got his official start with Brian Davis and Rising Stars. One thing that is constant in Coach Cliff’s basketball philosophy, is that high energy and positive reinforcement are staples in building a players confidence, and a teams chemistry. Coach Cliff continues playing regularly when he is not coaching and loves being in the gym everyday and is always excited to teach whoever wants to learn, at any level of the game.
